Mac aka Snookie

Mac was adopted by a fantastic family with an active lifestyle in 2016. Through DNA testing they found out he was German shepherd dog, Labrador retreiver, and Weimaraner. He obtained his Canine Good Citizen certificate just a few months after his adoption.

Mac attended his first DockDiving event in August 2016, but sadly, did not place. Relectance to jump prompted investigation. In early 2017, it was discovered that he had been suffering from severe bilateral elbow dyplasia and in 2018, severe hip dysplasia. To reduce pain, Mac underwent surgery for both elbows shortly after diagnosis. In 2018, he received surgery for a total hip replacement, however, due to complications during, it was no longer possible to go through with the replacement. The only option left was a salvageable procedure called a femoral head ostectomy to restore pain free movement of the limb.

Today's veterinary science allows Mac to live as pain free as possible. He is still living a healthy and active lifestyle swimming, hiking, shredding up his stuffed toys, and playing with his pal, Chillie.
